An other production from this manufacturer for the Wehrmacht, those small forks in aluminium - 10,5 cm x 5 cm, from 1936 and 1937, are telephony accessories. It use to roll up a length of phone wire to connect the earthing pin with the earthing connection of the field telephone.

Some examples from 1939 and 1940 manufactured by Ernst Hecker A.-G. are indexed. Named "Gabel Erdleitungsdraht" and "Gabel Wachsdraht" in the inventory of the operator's rucksack "Fernmelde Tornister" 1 and 3, those forks could also be used for copper wire or soldering wire for repairs (collection Stéphane Arquille).
